Is it just me, or does this become more of an addiction the further along you go?! I started cutting up old and new downed trees with my dad just to get rid of them. Thought to myself "Hey, I could sell some of this to help pay for Christmas." Haven't shelved the chainsaws or the axes since!

All my stuff is old! That saw on the left is an old craftsman (poulan) that my dad bought in the 80s. Runs like a scalded dog! The other saw is a 14in homelite I bought during an ice storm (it was all they had left). I just saw northern tool has 40cc husqvarnas (refurbished) for $199. That'll be my first stop after Xmas!
I do not sell wood but it is still an addiction. Pistol in the belt. Land of the free. You got to love it. That picture is something you will never see in a big city.

I started out with the intention of getting 3 years ahead someday.....that was around 9 years ago. I saved EVERYTHING. From willow to poplar, to all different kinds of maple, ash, walnut, oak, even spruce...whatever we cut, was processed and start ked for my stoves. Fast forward to today, I'm sitting at around 6 years ahead, and 97% of my wood is oak, locust, beech and hickory.....and I see no end in sight....lol I still save lots of other wood (ash and maple), but that's for my maple syrup evaporator.......I've become a certified WOOD SNOB.....lmao

No harm in selling some to help out with Christmas bills. It is also a good time of year to give some to a needy family if any of those are around.
When I first started working on my 3 year plan I never envisioned myself selling any firewood. Heck I had a hard enough time not cutting stuff all the way down to pencil size. As time has gone by and I am 3+ years ahead I stop limbing at about 2". I have started selling a little to help off set the cost of fuel and saw maintenance. Point is the addiction is real. Embrace it and do what you feel necessary to cope. Great to see you exercising your 2nd ammendment freedom.
Mmmmmm....oak! Great work and you are right with most of us here - I started putting up wood in 2008 and like many, I went after as much as I could get my hands on - about 6 years ahead now - sitting on about 30 cord - in terms of burning wood, there is nothing like loading the stove with 4 year (or older) old splits - makes running a stove simple and a joy - and the heat is just awesome! Keep pushing! And, like the carry as well! Cheers!
