Took down another power company left over on my neighbor place the other day. Cut my notch, and started a plunge cut, and got drowned. She was full of water. Thankfully my chaps caught most of the nastiness.

Nice score GrJfer, I've had that happen but it was when I split some very green bigtooth aspen.

That will create a nice feeling when you are getting warm from those BTUs and you remember back to when you cut it down. Will you have a way of remembering this one?

Nice work Gr! Any ideas on what kind of tree it is? And how much it yielded? Good thing for the chaps :)

My Oslo, it's red oak. Not sure on the yield as I still need to split it.

Got it all split up today. Not a big yield, but wood none the less.

I like your splitter setup. Do you ever split horizontal?

Not very often. Those were 20" rounds 22-23.5" long. That is how I most of them.

Interesting... Where would the water have come from? Rain or root draw? Just wondering.
