This McCulloch PM1000 arrived Thanksgiving week but I had not had an opportunity to unpack it.

It is a rebadged Partner P-100.

Yes, the Mac and Partner are both here. I would not claim to have a saw "in the house" that was not in my possession.

Those look sweet! I'm sure they're nice and light, too! Where do you fill the bar oil? I only see a fuel fill on the clutch side.

Bar oil is filled on the clutch side below the bar studs.

When I was redoing 550 p-70 ones I thought WTH. Oil fill on that side and cap used as chain catch it appeared.

Have you ever run the legendary SP125 or 125C by chance?

There's several reasons that they are still coveted both by collectors & users almost 40 years after the saw was discontinued in 1977. There is no Husqvarna or Stihl made today that can match the 125 in horsepower or torque, not even the 3120XP or the MS880 which are their biggest models. Both are very close in displacement,a few hundred more RPM's & only a pound or so less weight, but close to 25% less horsepower than the 'old slow Mac'. PM me sometime if you'd like a short history lesson....
