Beautiful day to be outside so I started moving wood to my basement for this coming season of burning firewood. 3 trailers full packed my well area. Found some critters too.
Picked this stack and hoping to move it all this long holiday weekend. All white/chestnut oak.

    Luckily this was unoccupied!

I mow right beside here so I’m glad they never bothered me!

This was snake number 2 and big enough for a pic. Just a garter.

Considering just releasing them back on the stack of wood.

This residence was occupied. I made quick work of em though. Bastages.

Roscoe stood guard on the bucket. Someone told him they threatened me.

Good deal The Wood Wolverine. I'm at least a month or more from filling the patio. Worked on tomato juice and the wife and I harvested pumpkins. About 25 Orange and also white. Some I planted some were volunteers. Vines were dying off. I did just ordered a new cat gasket so burning is coming to mind, going to pull the cat and give it a vinegar bath.

My sweet potato vines are not going nuts like usual this year. Hope they do well. Tomatoes were a constant fight to trim off blight.

Got all my wood stacked in the basement. I’ll keep going tomorrow. Hands are not happy. These 21-25” splits are too heavy and large to use my sling. Glad I went back to 18”.

3 more trailer loads finished off the stack. All restacked in the basement too. Almost had 2 full rows. 129” long on the back one, 111” for front.

OCD won’t let that go. I’ll have to throw in some more to top it off. Maybe tomorrow. It’s :pete: time.
