Since the only rental shop in town can't answer the phone when I call, perhaps you can help. I'm not quite ready to get my first hydro, but need to rent one to split up some 20-24" dia. chunks of pine that I just cannot hand split. Wife wants them out of the driveway, understandably. Anyone here locally care to loan out a splitter for a day. What's your rate? I take good care of equipment, especially the other fellas. Could make it a mini- GTG, but it's probably an hour of work at most with a splitter.
If ya didn't live soooooooo far away, you could borree mine Just need to operate it in the correct vertical orientation
Thanks Eric. I may just have to break down and whip out the debit/CC at TSC for a CountyLine hydro. Closest Menards with a Forest King is 200 miles away in Apple Valley, MN, otherwise I might pick one of those up because of the lower price. Y. Sam/EstoParatus/Barry
Just stopped at TSC here in town and they're out of the sub-30 ton hydros. Gonna check out Mills Fleet Farm next.
I'd be rather use a hydro. I've already spent too much time bouncing off of these rounds! City-grown pine trees with knots everywhere.
I am seeing a log-splitter rental business in my immediate future. Anyone have thoughts on the downsides of that, liabilities, etc?
If I wasn't swamped with work right now (and there's always the disposal of shavings - I use them for fire starter/mulch normally) I'd bring 1 or 2 of my vintage big saws & make short work of those knotty pine rounds Never pass up an opportunity to run one of those beasts, have been known to fire one up every month or so for a few minutes just to keep the piston/cylinder & other parts lubed.
Appreciate the thought thistle. I need a splitter anyways, but was really hoping to rent for one more go-around. Always love seeing the big saws!
Hi Corey. Are you saying the TrueValue in Grimes rents? Hadn't looked that far out yet... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using Tapatalk
