Drove by this on my way home early afternoon. Stopped and backed up to check it out as my FHC peripheral vision thought it to be mulberry. Sure enough. Had to get the saws for the job i was doing and go back that way anyhow so stopped and grabbed it. IMG_2214.JPG IMG_2215.JPG IMG_2216.JPG IMG_2217.JPG IMG_2220.JPG Aint much, but should top off an almost half cord stack of mulberry i have. Rare score around these parts. Any other wood (except BL) i wouldve left it. Like you Eric, id stop and grab all that i could like this.

Well Brad, you’re not wrong about my mulberry M.O.  Irony is the only time I was able to break my mulberry twig scrounging streak, it was when you tipped me off to a decent score of it.
The fruits of my labor was this Labor Day fruit wood

I’ve got some of this mulberry going in the stove right now, as a matter of fact. The 10 year old stuff that was sitting in that woman’s barn is incredibly dry and lasts a long time in the coaling stage. The hype is real

Snap, crackle, pop! Mulberry grows on the fence rows on my property. Before I got edumacated here, I used to think it was junk wood and would let it rot in place.

I love the sparking and popping in the fireplace. It puts on a show.

Have to admit, that woodn't even be blip my radar. These types of little scores makes me realize how spoiled I am. For me, it's typically go big or stay home.

X2. Being mulberry and not out of my way i had to stop. Only other wood is BL of course.
This may be just enough to finish off a half cord stack.

Similar to this "opportunity" in Newington CT. It's been up for a week and a half. There's a few decent rounds there, but a whole lot of sticks and brush.

Another small mulberry score not worthy of its own thread. From the job im working. Lady was having it taken down by someone else she knows. She proceeds to tell me the other day he backed out as he didnt know if he could fell it safely. Job became mine. Used the pole saw from the ground and limbed most of it. IMG_3704.JPG IMG_3706.JPG IMG_3707.JPG IMG_3715.JPG Serious growth rings. Stuff does grow like a weed. IMG_3709.JPG Brush stayed on sight. IMG_3711.JPG IMG_3712.JPG Another couple of wheelbarrows of mulberry added to my hoard. IMG_3710.JPG IMG_3713.JPG Watching my mulberry stacks get bigger is kinda like watching grass grow.:picard:

Dude that's not even that small of a tree! You've seen pictures of the mulberry twigs I've scrounged   If she doesn't get that stump treated or covered up, you'll get a call in a couple years to take down her new mulberry bush. Once those root systems get established they're very difficult to kill. :hair: My neighbor 2 houses down cut one down to ground level in spring 2022. The new shoots are now 10' tall.

Im almost done with cedar on her pool cabana. IMG_3714.JPG I have copper ridge flashing to install more than likely with copper nails. Maybe ill drive some into the stump as its supposed to kill them, BUT ill need future sources for mulberry so maybe i wont.:sherlock:

Cabana looks great and I'll bet the owner is thrilled. But in general you're a visionary. You see the diamond in the rough. You put your all into any given project and it shows.
