Saw this on a trip not long ago. Almond firewood for $12.99 for a box of .7 cubic feet.
My math says it costs $2,375.00 per cord before tax.... Must be really good stuff.

Was it being sold as bbq wood? Though I haven't had the pressure of trying it, lots of guys swear by it in the smoker.

With all the apple I've bumped into lately I've almost got the wife convinced to make up smoker wood bundles to sell on eBay..

They were logs, so I'm assuming it's firewood. I would agree if it was smoker chips of fruitwood, it is maybe a better deal?

And as I take another look, it's clearly labeled "firewood" - must be that organic fair trade stuff.. :D

That would be correct. The guys selling small boxes and bundles at convenience and grocery stores make an astronomical amount per cord.

Wow. Its better than a bundle that youd get at safeway here for just chitty azz cottonwood and maybe some doug fir but its always looking like it was sitting for months outside rotting a bit and then cut and kiln dried. Nothing great at all. This might actually be a better deal and is gonna burn much longer too if the wood isn't compromised. Price is doubled but for safeway's bundles you'll get less than an hour of burn time. This may be 3X's that. Im no expert on almond wood but anything is better than what I see being sold here and I sold 6-7 cubic feet for fire pits this summer. Much better deal.

Selling by the stick is the way to go! And it is at Whole Foods and California so premium plus pricing and whole foods probably doubled the price they paid for it. I get about $1200 a cord for oak in bags at state parks but I only give the state 10% of the gross instead of selling cheap to the convenience stores and letting them make most of the profit......On track for $175,000 in sales this year

And you guys aren't looking at the box very well.....it's says "almond firewood WITH kindling". So that's certainly worth the $12.99.....

    ;)

Yeah, the stuff you are burning is 100 years old, no pesticides then!

Around here the only thing that matters is if it's USDA certified organic:rofl:

Unfortunately you can't call your wood organic unless it is certified as " organic" you can call it "all natural" Gluten Free, Made in the USA, sourced using a process that guarantees that no dolphins were harmed, no added MSG,
