I got this score purely by accident/luck. The wood gods were smiling down on me again. I was cutting at a roadside score back in early February when a guy stops and asks if i wanted wood. As ive stated in the past "dumb question to ask a wood hoarder". He lived a couple minutes away. I stop over and he has the remnants from two huge red oaks felled by the May 15 tornado last year in his back yard. I guess tree guys bucked them up and left. He had posted adds on CL and the other scroungers took all the easy stuff but not these behemoths. BuZZsaw to the rescue. Went on a Sunday back in February and quartered the 16-18" long logs, but the others were 24" long/25-30" diameter and frozen to the ground. Some had to be bucked as well. Went later and cut them in half and quartered them. Pulled a load in February when ground was dry and frozen. Finally after waiting for the spring thaw and April showers to stop i was able to get the PU in and pulled a second load late today. Some pics are from February (snow on ground)

BuZZsaw sardine stacking in the PU IMG_0195.JPG still maybe half a truck load to get. 1 1/2-2 cord for the score

Your truck looks like it had plenty of traction, steering probably sucked but your tires won’t spin.

I not ready for any "heat" yet, still have too much to do. 65 to 70 deg. would suit me fine for another month or two.

Looks like @bear1998 was helping you load your truck Brad. "A couple more will fit". :hair:. Nice score BTW.

Nice Brad. I've cut many of this size with a 290 and 16" bar.

The saw pictured is my 460 with a 20" bar.
believe it of not Backwoods Savage, up until 15 months ago thats all i had ...my 290 with a 16" bar, other than my little Husky 334 arborist saw. Never had used a chainsaw with a bigger bar! I bought a used 460 powerhead for $40 not realizing what i got. Got it in working order, bought a couple bars and now im able to hoard big wood with ease.:tree:
Since October 2017 a lot of larger diameter wood has been available to me. I guess it was a sign from the wood gods!
Didnt you get a 261 if my memory serves me right?
