Good friends help you out and understand your proclivities towards wood hoarding. My good friend texted me last week to let me know her landlord had a maple taken down in her front yard. I was welcome to some of the wood, as long as her neighbor and father could come get their share. Of course I was happy with whatever I could get my hands on. After a couple days, she texts me a again to tell me her neighbor is now getting none of it. They had a falling out that I still don't quite understand, but I won't complain or ask for details. More firewood for me. Apparently her dad passed on the wood as well. Looks like I have some work to do.
Very nice. I am fortunate here to see a lot of maple. I always turned it down until a year or so ago o took one down on my place and went ahead and cut a split it. Pretty nice stuff after all. Splits like a dream and burns decent too. Nice get bud !
WOW! Thats quite the pile there. Got your work cut out for sure. Looks like Norway maple. Under rated firewood IMO. Ive had the reverse happen. Been told i can have the wood and show up to be told someone else is coming for it.
That does look good, just under a cord perhaps? You splitting any of that on site? Its nice when others take a look at a job, then back out, especially when I know its well within my abilities to take all. Sca
