Do you stay warm by burning it, or by walking to the end which I presume is somewhere in the Florida Keys? That is one LONG stack!

Impressive production you have going there, Dave.
Those long stretches of stuffed full wood shed are really neat.
Sorry to see that your splitter broke - being tipped up on its nose like that. LOL.

Not a black & white picture, just that time of the year. Dark days of winter setting in :(
5 hrs - 50 min of daylight today.

Just out of curiosity, approximately how long would that double stack of birch be if it contained all the wood you have burned over the years in Alaska?

Looks great Dave-everytime! When you go into the woods to cut, do you bring a rifle too?

The time I cut wood is after moose season & the bears are typically headed for their winter nap.
+ Have only called in cow moose with the chain saw. :)

Out in the bush, Subsistance hunters use that trick this time of the year.
Go fall some birch, which will eventually be cut up for firewood.
Wait for moose find the down trees.
Load the moose into a big sled towed by a snow machine . Moose steaks for dinner .
