I had an idea for a wedge pouch after my orange nylon one fell apart

    I ordered a surplus $7 M16 30 round magazine pouch off E-Bay

It holds 2 small Stihl wedges and 2 medium ones

The lid won't close and secure but I think I can relocate the snap halves with pop rivets; however, not sure I really need a closing lid

Guess it would be good for transporting them but when you need one you NEED one and I don't want to be fooling around with unlatching something

I may just hack off the lid and heat seal the material with a lighter

I am going to hang it on an old GI web belt I have laying around

I am also going to cut off the "wings" on the side because I just see them snagging stuff

Take a picture of it when you are done and hanging on your waist. I want to see how it sits and how secure the wedges are in it. So far looks like a good idea.

    Will do

Trimmed off the grenade holders on the side but waffling on cutting off the top cover

Turns out it will hold 2 small and 3 medium wedges

    Thanks

    Pics as requested

I trimmed off the top a little long and folded it over and glued it with a line of GOOP

I figured the rubbery texture of the GOOP would give some friction to help hold the wedges in

I also grabbed a 20 round M16 magazine pouch out of my stash and as you can see it is great for a file and a scrench

I normally keep my scrench in the right side tool pocket of my Carhartts and I normally use a file guide but I just wanted to show that the 20 round pouch is set up to hold gear like that

I have a QuikClot bandage, a pack of compressed gauze, and a roll of COBAN wrap inside and there is room for bandaids for boo boos

There is room for a couple of CLIF bars or something as well

Since I already had the belt and the 20 round pouch my outlay of cash was $7.00

I realize if you normally use the larger 10"-12" wedges this is probably not workable but I just spent an hour out in the side yard pulling alder stumps wearing this rig and didn't lose a thing

It looks like most of the length of the wedge is in the pouch and would stay put.
    Not a bad idea.
    Sure beats my back pocket.
    Thanks for the pic.
Like you said pretty cheap way to go.

Yeah, back pocket carry is a PITA

Fighting the chaps belt, and the pressure it puts on your hips after you bend over for the 53rd time
