To Pack a tent in the Jeep hook a small boat with outboard behind it, Pack a few coolers, cast iron pans, and a couple pots and head north. Cross the boarder at the Soo and start stoping here and there to fish all summer long.A few days here and few there. Explore chains of lakes and a few rivers. Go on a mostly fish diet ans see it it really would be good for me. Throw a trap on the ground a sleeping bag on that then get in and roll the tarp over me if I get to a camping spot late. could even do that on Islands while lake chain exploreing. Then when summer is over return home for a while. Once the snow is on the ground Load the sleds on the trailer head north. Pick a spot to unload and park and start rideing west going from motel to motel from 150 to 200 miles apart. See how much of Michigans UP, Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota we could see. Carry all our belongings in a back pack, I have stayed at motels with laundary rooms. I supposed I would have to do this with a man friend, can't emagin my wife being happy with like 3 changes of clothes for 3 or 4 months. Guys may not even need a laundry even. Al
Laundry, pfffffffffft, over rated. Soap up in underwear and socks, take them off, rinse and hang on shower rod, ready for the next day! Oh the good ole days.
A week in Pennsylvania for genealogy. Not able to now, the thought about saving up to pay for something comes to mind here and there.
Many of the things I thought I wanted to see involve crowds. The older I am getting, the less I like dealing with crowds. I take genuine pleasure in the activities of my daughters and their families. The grandson's 4H calves are here on our farm and next year the oldest granddaughter will be in full time 4H so her calf will be here. I walk their calves a mile a day at least and when they come for their days (summer involves 3 or 4 days a week at our home). My parents built their retirement home on our farm so we help them with their day to day lives (more now as they get older and dad can't drive). My bucket list I guess as I type this, be able to walk all five grandkids 4H calves daily until they are out of 4H. We have a pond on our farm, the grands are now old enough to fish and we have a bunch of hungry little bluegills. An ice fishing hook and a meal worm and we have had exciting days already this year. I try to take the pleasure in the little things that add up to big things I guess. Interesting question I have never sat and pondered over a keyboard before.
Is some thing to think about as your walk with the wife grocery shopping or waiting for her while she shops other places. Al
