Thanks to buzz-saw for having me over on Friday to mill some logs that had special meaning. Cedar and sassafras sourced from my oldest stepdaughters in recent weeks. Milled for use in some stand up planters for her garden. Enough sass for at least one complete planter. Cedar 2x4's for legs. Also ran a "peyronies diseased" (his term) cherry through. One board split after being cut with a pop. Tension in the wood released. Not much color to them either. One last cherry log that turned out to be river birch past its prime. Too bad as it had some nice spalting to it. All in all a fun time as always. Very cool seeing what logs look like inside. Milled some cedar thinner for lath i use for making lattice sheets. Ran them though my table saw after at home.
anytime I definitely have some fun I think we had the lucky blade on there Cut a lot of logs over three days no metal and no OSHA safety inspection Thanks for the fun!
Nice batch of lumber there and with a family connection! That buzz-saw guy is a good egg! You are both fortunate to have a like minded friend close by!
Thanks much! The door swings both ways , BRAD is a great guy and somehow, we always have fun working. He is an "Ace in the Hole" for finding wood. You never know what is coming down the pipe!
