Anyone know what tree this is? I thought some kind of Poplar but I am no good at the tree ID business. A tree service guy said some kind of Birch. Appreciate any help here. It is in the next door neighbors yard. Every year it clogs my gutters, covers the deck and fills the boat for close to 2 months. I have blown the roof off and cleaned the gutters four times and they need it again. Blowing and cleaning up the leaves is wearing the poor Wif out. I will have it cut down for free to him. The wood (what little there is) I will split for a friend and deliver along with some seasoned Fir.

It looks a lot like European beech to me.

Almost looks like a lombardy poplar. Grows fast and dies young.

The bark looks like just like some beech I cut earlier this year. If it is, that is some pretty good fire wood.

Not Alder or Birch I think. The leaves are leaning me to European Beech as some have suggested.

Local tree service has a bucket truck. I will have them do all the work.
