Well the neighbor wanted to get the wood pile out of there. He's not burning this year. And he didn't want to leave it to his wife to take of. I told him I'd take awhile back just hadn't had a whole lotta time to work on it. Well I was cornered... I want vs. it gets thrown away... I didn't want to see honey locusts to get thrown away... So I cleared off some time today and tomorrow to get the pile. Took the 046 and the hybrid to stretch there legs out a bit today.... It felt good to be under the trigger again ...
Yes he's got 5 of those we move the wood around with either the bobcat or his forklift. Right now I'm just utilizing it to get the wood blocked and portable.
Kinda of sorta.... He was just going to have the buddy of his that owns the tree service pick it back to haul it off to the mulcher down the street. He found out this last year that wood burning was just too much for his failing health. I just do the neighborly thing and help him out as much as I can. But I just couldn't see good honey locust going to waste.
Me too.... Because when he makes his mind up. You better jump on it and be there on time... Or you'll lose out..
Well I went back over after Church this morning started about noon and finished about 3....Got it all blocked up. Still need to split down the few bigger pieces to be able handle them. I'm whooped, took a cold shower and throwing down the water. Try to cool off. Think I just almost had a melt down.... Thank goodness for the kid and the JD moving the wood was a lot easier that way. Ended up filling the partial one from yesterday and another full one. So I'll get three full one & 1/2 or 3/4 of another one.
Chvy, You done good man. There are alot of BTU's in those pcs. Glad the heat only kick your a--. and didn't take you down. This weather has been very unpredictable, one day nice low humidity the next day 90 and 85% humidity. The boys were doing a roof for me today and they knocked off at 1:00 it got too brutal. Now at 4:20 the front moved thru and it is decent. ????? Anyway keep it going the load looks good.
The wood looks to be in pretty good shape to me, not too much punk/rot at all! I can relate to the heat, I cut a little on Saturday and was soaking wet head to toe when I was done. Good score for sure.
No, just the little splitting that I did, its plenty wet. Plus it'll have plenty of time to dry out in rotation.
