I have been reading about how useful this tool is in firewood processing, but was not wanting to pay the asking price for one. Built this one this evening, have $9 and less than an hours time. Turned out pretty good I think, and works good also.
Can't beat them for unloading a truck or trailer, pulling stuff off a pile, stick it in a small log and drag it around, many other things and you don't have to bend over
here is a picture of one a guy on AS made from railroad spikes, mean medieval looking deal. He put the spike on the so that he could stick it in the ground and it would stand up
yep had to get a grade 8 bolt, (head of bolt cut off lock nut on top) first one I tried got bent a section of water pipe ( I think it was a foot long) is inside the conduit for weight on the business end
