Been hot and had other stuff to do but the end is in sight for the first of many pallet pens. The last pallet will be the blue one on the ground. One more on the side. Should cover just right with a 10’x30’ tarp roof. Will be interesting to see if the floating tarp roof can survive in the field. It worked in my backyard years ago but there’s more wind to contend with in the field.
So far the pallets are holding up well. Should be 7.25 cord in this one when it’s done.
Thinking I’ll stack the end between the pallets to make removal easier, safer instead of having to unscrew the pallets with everything inside.

I like it! All that time spent stacking is used doing something else. :dex::thumbs:

Mostly napping in the AC :) It’s working as well as I had hoped. Maybe better. I had expected some type of trouble but so far nothing. Saving all the trouble for the roof I imagine.

I’ve been speaking English for practically my whole life but I don’t think I’ve ever seen these words put together in this specific order.

A little headway is better than none! :)

Looks great Joe. Huge labor saver for sure. Leave it to you to rig up something like that. Nice when you can get the same sized pallets which is something ive started to do this year having a steady source for them.

What species you have in there?

Mostly the beech and Black Birch that needed to go first. Starting to toss a little ash in also. This is all shoulder season wood as those logs hung around too long.
Next pen will be oak and hickory that’s been hanging around. Then I’ll start new for fresher wood.
