Wondering if anyone has a favorite fix for tires that go flat on ATVs, UTVs, mowers. I have a problem with all of the above, believe it or not! Especially my eXmark mower and John Deere Gator. Fix-o-flat, Slime, or put tubes in? The Gator had several plugs in the tread when I bought it used. Front left is the one that goes down most often. Others hold pretty well. The mower, I dunno why it goes flat but both back tires now and also one of the small front ones. I have to air it up every cut. The tires on there are whatever came stock. Have you had any luck with this?

I have always used the slime. I have a hawthorne tree in my yard and besides a bad valve stem on the one tractor tire, the others have always stayed filled.
In full disclosure I do pick up the branches before I mow around that tree but you can't ever get them all. And hawthorne trees love to shed branches... uggg

Slime, or slime type sealers (not "fix-a-flat!) work fine on those slow leaks like that...heck, I put it in off road stuff just as a preventative anymore.
Tubes work fine on most everything except ATV's (unless maybe if it is just a low speed workhorse only)
On low pressure floater tires like that the tires move and flex so much that the valve stem just rips right outta the tube...when I worked at the bike shop we would only install them after the customer was warned of the issue, and understood that we offered no warranty on them for this reason.

Just remember, once you tube it you can't plug it. I will tube lawn mower tires if a plug won't get it but never my atv, utv or auto tires.

A can of evaporated milk works better than slime in my opinion. I heard this tip came from old tire shop guy. I can't believe how well it works, even on cracked sidewalls. Holds up for years also. Even fixed some leaky air hoses with it.

If it’s plugging holes in tires what is it doing to your insides when you ingest it? :bug:

I worked for a lawnmower and small engine repair shop for about 3 years. They used to put slime in everything that had air in the tires. Works fine.
