Things thawing and now getting saturated, we had a tree leaning bad at our gun club. This morning we had this gum tree leaning about 45º+ and moving slowly to the ground. It was gonna block a road. I dropped it and came home with a small load of fresh stuff. Only had the camera here. Sad, it was a nice little tree... The tree guys around here will be going strong till June.

You did better than gum Dave, that's sassafras! That'll split easy and dry fast.

Yep, that's what I thought when I first saw it too, especially if it has that sassafrass-typical spicy smell.

My mother’s only two complaints about firewood.
    1 I need more than I have.
2 why isn’t there more Sassafras in the mix?
    :)
