I'm new to the forum and looking for a ported 60 cc saw for sale or looking for a few references of current builders who will woods port a new saw for me Thanks
millermodsaws can hook you up. Dolmar 6100 stock is still good runner. He just gets even more out of it. Good guy too. He sells Dolmars as well.
TLandrum at Wicked Work Saws or Dozer Dan if you want Jred/Husq. Mastermind is good for just about any brand Stihl/Husq/Echo... but he's always booked several months out. There's plenty of other good ones, too. Go to a local GTG and run saws and/or meet builders if you can.
Thank you CoreyB. I can port any saw you would like but if you want the builder to be the dealer Dolmar/Makita is what I offer. OP best of luck choosing saw. Lots of good choices out there.
Some advice for your first ported saw . Go to a gtg try everyone else Saws . Look and see who is local that does porting . If you get a local guy he can port you can try it . Last bit of advice don't buy a ported saw you won't ever be able to run a stock saw
One last thing talk to everyone who ports the Saws. so you know what you are getting before you get it
My mind is on sensory overload trying to decide which saw to pick for a port job. I'm so inclined to port a 60cc for the sheer performance. Yet, porting a 50cc or so has merit too since I'm close to 50 years old and this size saw would have plenty of power but would be something I could use for quite awhile.
For your first ported saw. Port a saw you will use the most. The pick for ported saws amongst my older customers is the echo 490/500. There super light for a 50cc and run really nice ported.
I prefer a 70-80cc, and you can't go wrong with a ported 7910... Carl can hook you up with one of those, too.
Carl must be sleeping so I did a little digging this morning for everyone. For Sale - Ported 656 Solo & 500P Echo | Firewood Hoarders Club Some videos in here for the op
the 50cc saw that is mistaken for a 60cc. WKEND LUMBERJAK now owns this and is running a 20" 3/8 bar on it
