Just got the news and I am trying to be as positive and supporting as I can be but it feels like it never ends. Wife as of the end of the month will be at her 1 year mark. She had her 1st surgery at the end of March 2017 on her hoof. Thinking she may be down a few weeks maybe a month. Then infection set in and had to open it back up and scrape it clean and put it back together. Not fixed. Have another surgery. After fmla and vacation days were burned up she was terminated. Still not fixed. Other hoof n leg bothering because she can barely hobble on the one leg. Now we get informed she needs yet another surgery and will be down a few more months, and it will be about as good as we can do. It almost beats a guy down trying to do all you can around the house, loss of an income, medical bills, depressed/crippled up spouse, going for an interview tomorrow for a part time job and trying to not let on how full it feels my plate is. Enough crying in my cheerios. As Grandpa always said, "Remember its never so bad that it can't get worse, keep your head up and be nice."

I feel your pain Brother. Things will get better. You've got a family here if you ever feel the need to vent. Good Luck and God bless.

I'm sorry for your troubles. Try to give yourself a break when you can, and give yourself permission to let the little things go. Be nice to each other. You are good people.

Only God has the power to get you through this situation. Give it to Him. Lay it at His feet.

Wow, 2009, my wife got her foot crushed at her work, broken metatarsals, severe soft tissue crush. Foot was so swelled up, it floated in the bathtub for over a month! Doctor on first visit right after it happened, "she'll be back to work on Monday (this was a Thursday). 2018, she is now on disability and can walk with a cane. She used an office chair in the house to move around on, crutches other times. Worst for me, youngest daughter got married 5 days before the injury, oldest daughter got married 3 months later, went from three farmhands/wood helpers to NONE! Countless doctor visits anywhere from 1/2 hour to 5 hours away. Workman's comp in Indiana is terrible for the worker. We would always say to each other, "you aren't dying from cancer, we can do this". Feel free to pm me any time. I will send you my email if that helps and will let you lean on me and can introduce my wife to your wife if she is on facebook. Those that are on that path can help easier and give her another ear for listening. It is a pain for us, but think of what they/she is going through. Keep your chin up.

Greenstick JWinIndiana's post just above mine is why we are on this website. Don't be shy in asking for moral support from us. It helps to talk to people outside of your immediate circle so we can encourage you and support you. Taking care of yourself and your wife and letting the little things take care of themselves is your first priority right now. Feel free to ask for help.

Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, and offers of assistance. Being the hermits we are this is one of the only decompression areas I have to let off steam, and it sure helps. This place is truly like a best friend that is there thick or thin! Thanks all.

I will be praying for you, and while I do not have any real experience like yours, i will say that a few months ago things looked glum and the people on this forum were really kind. I will never forget it for sure...one person even offered me their home to stay in in case I needed to be in Boston for treatments. Who does that for a stranger in 2018?

    Firewood Hoarders that is who...

There is something about foot injuries, it always seems like they are painful and take a really long time to heal. I hope your wife heals up quickly without too much more pain.
