Picked up a john deere 330 diesel tractor and it has a 3pt setup, this is new to me how do I tell what category hitch it is? Did some Google searching and got mixed answers that said cat 0 and 1. Just shopping for a few other attachments.

    It's either a Cat 0 or limited Cat 1.

    Top pin Lift pin Spacing
    Cat 0. 5/8. 5/8. 20
    Ltd Cat1. 3/4. 7/8. 28

Ltd Cat 1 are "limited" on the lifting height. Some Cat 1 Implements are too tall for them. Several mfg make Implements specifically for Ltd Cart 1

There were/are a ton of Sub-Compact category tractors (Deere 2210, 2305, and the 1xxx series, many Kubota BXs) that are Limited Cat 1 and under 20HP.

Not a whole lot of Cat 0 out there these days, thanks to the HD garden tractor being pushed to near-extinction by sub-compacts.

    A bunch of the small-frame compacts (Deere 650/670, 4010, 4100, 4110) are full Cat I with sub 20-HP specs.

A handful of mid-framers too, 750, 770, 755, even the 855 is only 19 HP on the PTO and feature full Cat I 3pt.

It has more to do with frame/tire size, and frame strength (ballast capability) than it does engine HP.
