    Hello

I do work on Whitfields and there are quite a few around here. Most other stoves are millivolt and I have used the Lux T-Stats very successfully on them even Harman stoves.

However Whitfield needs a 24 volt T-Stat with a setting to prevent short cycling.

My initial research of the Recommend T-Stat Whitfield Part # 16050205 came up with the Honeywell T810D

The reason the model T810 D is needed, is that only model D has a "Adjustable Heat Anticipator" or what is called nowadays is a swing setting! The heat anticipator lever is set to prevent short cycling.

Since T-Stat models change as often as we change our clothes this particular model not made much anymore but it seems that if you pay the price (approx $100) you can still buy it. If your are lucky you can get them cheaper off ebay also.

This is a basic heat only T-Stat with the "Adjustable Heat Anticipator" and are still made by Honeywell and sold today at Lowes. The new model is the Honeywell CT30A available at Lowes for approx $15.00 !!!
Just connect the two wires from the Whitfield's T-Stat terminals to R and W on the back of the T-Stat and away you go!

    "Adjustable Heat Anticipator" settings
    Default is approx 0.4
    Range is 0.1 to 1.2

Your system Setting Heat Anticipator Setting
Gas or oil furnace (less than 90% efficiency) 0.4
    Electric furnace (any type) 0.3
High efficiency furnace (more than 90% efficiency) 0.8
    Hot water system 0.8
Gas/oil steam or gravity system 1.2

Two Questions here. Since I do not have a Whitfield to test at the moment.

    1. What should the "Adjustable Heat Anticipator" be set to for best results with a Whitfield Pellet Stove?

    2. Can someone recommend a good Digital T-Stat that can be set to manual mode that is 24 volts with a swing setting that will work best with a Whitfield too?

There are CT30 digital equivalent T-stats that are zigbee and zwave for nice wifi capability - just looking for someone with experience with one?
