2022 wood migration

We have a good weather window this weekend time to load up! Slide is up! What’s left from last season.

 

Smells like winter already.

C’mon we’re dying for the money shot! Where’s a pic of it all stacked up beautifully inside?

Also, if you’re OCD like many of us here, I assume you’re putting last years wood on top so it gets burned first this season?

 

It’s gonna take me a few days…here is one from last year. Moving the wood from last year never occurred to me! I figure it’s as dry as it’s gonna get so…

Same thing has been going on here all week. Now, it's in between the raindrops!

 

I usually wait for 2-3 hard frosts before bringing in any wood in quantity. The frost seems to kill off any bugs that might be in the wood. But that's just me.

I was done. My boy said we can do one more trailer dad! That put a smile on my face!

 

Good enough for one day. As you can see I have the opposite of OCD, get the job done as quick as possible cuz there’s a long list of ‘em.

 

8' ceiling? Good work so far!

 

And I hate bark! It will go in the stove via coal shovel. I ain’t dragging it back out.

Warner that is one sweet setup! Stacked right to the floor joists! I like your 2X4 end stops running from the pallets to the joists. No fooling around trying to crib the ends, just keep stacking until it’s full.

 

OMG, that leftover wood could be ten years old if you do the same every year.

 

Nah, last winter was wimpy. I usually use it all up.

 

Thanks! I crib my outside stacks but with the height and wife/kids helping cribbing could lead to a logalanch.

I’m short one piece of 2x4! I’ll be diving into my favorite dumpster Monday.

 

Found a piece of 2x’ to scab in. Supposed to be weather moving in this evening. The push is on!
