I've got to know, how do these taste compared to domestic turkey? Soooooooo jealous of people that can turkey hunt, as we have none around these parts. They've popped up in the bottom of our province, but no open season for them. How are they to hunt?

They are quite a bit tougher than store bought turkey, but not bad if you cook them right.

Probably my favorite thing to hunt...they are super smart and will pick you off visually from a mile away...but when you're calling in a big Tom and got him worked up they can get just stupid enough to get one.

Basisally like lukem said.......what i like about Spring Gobbler is....nice time of year to hunt, unlike deer huntin......turkey are vocal..it makes the hair stand up on the back of ur neck when a gobbler sounds off say 30 yards away when you havent heard nothin for a while.
Ya never know whats gonna happen...ya think ya got him dead to rights n he hangs up n wont come closer expecting to see a hen.
Or they go silent on ya n circle around ya..never makin a peep..u only know there behind you cause you here leafs or brush crunchin....its awesome!
No dought they are not as tasty as domestic turkeys....i smoke mine n they come out pretty good...

That is a beautiful bird bear 1998.

Maybe you have talked about it here before, but I can't help but notice that buck...wow, that is the deer of a lifetime! Dual drop tines and those brow tines are massively high, plus the mass, height, stickers...he has it all.

I got that in Ohio in 2011....wifes cousin owned 150 acre farmette...nobody hunted it for 15 years (posted). He knew i hunted n asked if we would like to come out (me to hunt).....since then..they sold it to a wildlife conservancy.
He was a nuclear engineer n they wanted a home closer to his work place.
    Had a great time...
I had to score the buck through SCI (got it with crossbow n P &Y does not reconize them).
    Scored 212 5/8"....18 scorable points.....dress out at 263#

Nice trophies. I hav a moose that’s been at the taxidermist for 3+ years. Knew it was going to be a while, he told me it would be over 2 years. He’s busy because he’s that good. Has most of the moose in the Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops here in Alaska.

Yessir shoulder mount. 55 1-4 wide with a 30” brow tube that looks like an elephant tusk and a 29 1/2” tine with 2 points on it that looks like the top/back scratcher of an elk. Taxidermist thinks I should sell to Cabelas. Every time we talk he brings it up. EF80023C-BAEF-49DD-9D91-AAB5D9AEE255.jpeg
