    I have 2 new Husqvarna 20 " chains BUT, they have 80 links not 72. Can someone uses theses?

    The Box show 72 Links but the chain itself has 80 stamped on the pitch.

    They are yours for the asking.

    why not find a shop and have them shortened, if you don't have the tools your self.

    I assume it would have the wrong pitch. I'm guessing it is a .325 pitch not 3/8 which would be .375. I am only speculating this because when I look up 80 links it mentions the .325 pitch.

    80= 0.375 Pitch, 0.050 gauge drive links.

    I can use those.

    It just occurred to me. :hair: The 80 stamped on the drive links is just the manufacturer code for the type of chain it is. They all come that way off the roll from the factory, before they’re cut shorter into specific lengths. Did you happen to actually count the drive links? If I get them and they’re 72 DL I’ll send them right back.

    They both off in the mail out to you. No matter how much I tried I couldn't get it on my saw. Hopefully you'll have better success than I have. All my other chains are stamped with 72 in those fit fine. Looking at your list of machines you have I'm hoping you'll be able to get it to fit on those.

    Ok they were definitely the wrong chains for your bar then. Your other chains that are stamped 72 are Oregon brand. I have a couple of those exact ones myself. As for the two you sent out, I’ll probably end up splicing them together to make a 28” chain. I have a brand new 28” bar with no associated chain for it, so this works out.

    OK, When I looked up my chains with the 80 stamp it was a .325 pitch. But what do I know. I've had those chains just sitting in my basement for a few years now and I was hoping someone could use them. Good Luck.
