Hauled yesterday’s work off the hill this morning. Rounds are just about to the limit of the size this old guy cares to lift any more.
12 to a load makes for a quick load up.

Figure at least 1/3 cord which would get us through the worst of any month here in the PNW. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Impressive load on the trailer, and nice stack of rounds.

Nice work!!!! Tires look clean, so guessing mud is not an issue?

Alder wood. As Brad said, some of it is a bit over ripe, but seems to be solid enough to make firewood out of. It just burns fast once it is dry.

I was amazed how solid it was after it dried this summer. This area last winter was suck your boots off your feet muddy mess.
Part of the trail is slanted toward the canyon side enough to where I don’t know if it’s accessible in the Winter with the side by side.

When I get a stack of rounds like that, I let them sit for 1 year. Let the sun and wind do some work for me. Makes splitting easier....How about yourself???

I seldom stack rounds. Usually just a short time haphazard pile until I drag the splitter out, but I started hauling small loads with the quad and the side by side, figuring it’ll get muddy at some point, then I’ll start splitting.
