A little while ago I was lamenting that I didn't have enough midgrade BTU wood. Well, that has changed. Had a few trees snap off in wind storms past summer/ fall. I knew of 2 of them. First up. BL bonus. I started to buck, but stopped. I didnt feel like resharpening the chain. I'll be back! Cherry #2... Decent size. I have to come take the rest down Nice size rounds. #3&4... #3 next to the big one and 4 is mixed in that mess somewhere. Not done with them yet. Probably half of the trees 2 &3 left to cut up, their stumps, plus #4. I want to use the quad to help pull out sections but it's having battery issues.. I ran the 7310 and junior the timberwolf.
Nice amount of wood to be had. Best time to do it too, as long as the ground isn't too wet. Hoard on!!
Some great midgrade/cooking wood in that cherry, nothing like the smell of cherry burning on a cold, snowy day, IMO. You don't want that locust, just gimme an address and I'll come remove that garbage from your woods for you....
I love the smell lf cherry, both burning and in the mill, planer, router, etc... I milled up a cherry that grew up outside my father in law's bedroom window. It was beautiful. I made his "ash box" out of it when he passed. It sits above the tv in my mother in law's room. It is so easy to work with and only requires some light oil to really pop. We use cherry for smoking meat too.
Scotty Overkill you can't use that line on me, that's what I tell people. The larger cherry would of been a nice log to mill. Just don't have access or the equipment. Kind of felt bad turning it into rounds
Good stuff there. Too bad about some of the rot, but that why they blew over. Your woods reminds me of a typical roadside cut for me. Lots of tangle, but for good firewood its worth it. Go get that cherry
If a man/women could only have one kind of wood, I could be happy with Cherry. Nice score, too bad about the jungle vines, I hate em'.
