Does the length of run of the oak matter?

Nope, as long as there are no restrictions.

Thank you much... trying to figure out my burning. Have wood at 18% moisture and can't really turn the air down farther than 1/3 open... been getting 4-5hr burns with 4 decent size splits. that is from start up till 250 stove top coals. Thinking that is just how my system works.

How long are you thinking? In the world of OAKs some Manuf recommend increasing the size, once a certain length has been reached?

I'd be curious how you make out when you get it installed
