So about every other time I pull the 021 out to cut I have to adjust the carb. It always bogs down when cutting, I adjust and it's fine for a bit. Then a few weeks later the same thing again. Any ideas?

Hopefully someone will have an idea to try (other than what we spoke about on the phone).

Hard to say what's up Swags, my 024AV was doing a similar thing after I rebuilt it and the carb this spring, constantly had to re-adjust. It finally settled down and runs great now ................... seemed in general that I had it too rich.

Almost bought you a Christmas gift last night ................. shopping with my girls and saw these sunglasses in a boutique type of shop. They were the mirrored type with the letters SW on the left lens and AG on the right. Probably some "brand name significance" I'm unaware of, but I immediately thought of you!

My brush cutter would do this as well and I took the carb down blowing the needle ports out - haven't had to monkey with it since

Hmmm, chasing carb adjustments eh? How about day to day? Does it perform the same as it did the day before or does it have to sit for a long period of time to start acting up? I would make sure the engine is mechanically healthy before blaming the carb, of course cleaning the carb with a new kit can't hurt either and it is cheap to do.

Chasing carb adjustments is usualy something with a degree of variability to it such as dirt in the carb, air leaks, very small fuel line leaks (can be affected by temperature....), or worn rings that don't seal up as well as the saw warms up.

Standard op here would be a compression check, followed by a pressure/vac test (ensuring the engine is mechanically sound) before turning the sights on the carb.

Thanks MM, good excuse to run out to Dex's house now to check the compression.
