The most rotten tree unfortunately got put in the back of the stack where I can’t cut it up first. I’ll save what I can when I get to it in a few...
Agreed. Haven’t run out from having too much yet! Still might sell a few cords, maybe ahead of winter 2027. By then I’ll have some extra wood...
I thought I might want the Cuistot instead since it was a bit smaller so I emailed the JA Roby support email asking their opinion. The owner...
The time has come. Demolition started last Thursday, new basement dug and they poured footers yesterday. Original start was after Labor Day so we...
I noticed a couple other forums are now only available to logged in members due to bots. I wish I could remember which sites, had to be something...
Who would’ve thought so many bots needed to learn about firewood?!? Maybe one of them will be smart enough you can send a picture of a log or tree...
I considered rearranging the log stack to do that. My guess is I just process it slow and steady, just like the last time I had a lot of logs.
Pics are always too big of a file to upload from my phone. Never figured out how to fix!
Seems like it comes in waves. I had 9 trees cut down for a new build, then family told me they are having 9 trees cut down and are saving the logs...
Measured out the stacks yesterday. I have about 25 cords cut/split/stacked. I assume between the logs I have and the logs I am committed to when...
Old muscle saws. I’m running an Echo 610evl and an Echo 750evl for my big saws right now and it’s so much fun. They run lower RPM’s than my newer...
Probably, but almost not worth the hassle since I don’t know anyone that collects it offhand.
Wow! How much oil do you use per tank of fuel when milling?
Great to know! I’ll burn up the gallon of 20:1 I have and then just mix at 32:1 for the old saws and 50:1 for the new ones. I was very surprised...
For the old Echo’s I mix at whatever the manual said. Most are 32:1 but the 500 is 20:1! The mosquitoes fly away when that’s running.
Interesting! Never thought about that. I’ll look into it. That era some snowmobiles were liquid cooled and some were air cooled.
Does anyone remember running Skidoo 2 stroke oil in chainsaws? Came in metal cans with a tab on top like a pop can. I have a couple old sealed...
I figured I was close at $2500. We will see what offers we get and adjust from there.
Not sure the temps today but really soon I’ll be burning plenty of mixed gas. 9 oak trees down for the new build. The logs are stacked up for me...
I started at $2500. Not in a huge hurry to sell. It can wait in the barn until it cools off a bit. Need the space more than anything.
