Well written sound advice from a veteran woodburner. A must read resource for those new to firewood heat and well seasoned horder alike! As an arborist I have printed and passed this on to many folks in my daily interactions with clients.

I will be making this required reading for all members of our camp, especially the flatlanders! We have a Grandma Bear that gets abused and a lot of wood gets wasted. Thanks Backwoods Savage for putting this out in an easily read and informative style.

Very informative on top of being very well written! Someday when I sell my house I'm going to leave a copy of it on the woodstove for the next owner. It's definitely required reading for anyone starting out in wood heating (or anyone looking to improve on their craft)

If I was in the wood stove business I would barter for the right to print this and make it mandatory reading for my customers. Might even give a test to make sure it was understood. Might alienate some but the rest would have a more pleasant wood burning experience.

Not a bad idea. Perhaps I should run this by one of the manufacturers?

I have been burning wood for a couple years now in my fireplace. Looking to get a OWB next year. Overall a great "article" for a Novice (which I consider myself) firewood burner.

As a resource this is great information! Being from the Northeast I was always told don't burn pine or white birch. Thanks for expanding the knowledge of a rookie. Less than 5 years burn in wood.
