This is on a neighbor's land. For sure I think I'll get several cut-offs from this junk they are hauling out. These next ones show some of the junk they are cutting. Could hardly believe some of the crooked ones they are taking. But, as I understand it, they are just going to cut railroad ties from all this oak. Don't think they paid much for the trees either. I think there are 141 trees they are cutting then a few more on some other neighboring land. These two pictures are for amateur cutter to compare his skidder. This one has only one speed and it is slower than granny gear. Hard to believe they can make it pay being so slow.
Looks good for you! I can’t believe someone took the time to pull some of those out, looks too crooked to even get rail ties out of.
Dang, they should come to ct. we have nicer stuff than that laying on the side of the road,,,,for free. At least their neighbor will know what to do with it.
That's some great stuff. Is it all oak? Looked like some hickory bark in there. Glad it's close to home for you. Could you take the tractor over and stack the bucket full to haul it home?
Our markets must be different, here that wood would sell to cabinet and furniture makers. Less money yes but kitchen cabinet pieces are not real long..
Almost all I process if log cut offs from landing just like you posted, except they are a LOT bigger.
This is either the 3rd or 4th time this woods has been logged that I know of. Not much big stuff left. However, we did get one nice one during our gtg.
Both Scotty Overkill and walt made sawdust taking it down. Scotty did the work up top and Walt did the felling. A bunch of hoarders swarmed on the tree once it was on the ground.
walt used a Tree Monkey 661 with 36" bar that huskihl brought to drop it. It was fun watching Scotty Overkill and Walt work that tree to the ground.
