Picked up 3 saws at an estate/garage sale today. one is an Echo CS450 and two Stihl 192 TC's. The Echo looks like new and runs great for $100. The two Stihls both run and oil OK. Both need new side plates as some of the grills are burned away. One probably needs a new muffler. One has a 16" used bar and chain and the other has a 14" newer bar and new chain. Paid another $100 for both. Hope I can get my money out of those two. The Echo I think will sell OK. I really don't have any experience with either the arborist style Stihls or Echo saws so I guess I took kind of a gamble.
All cranked right up and ran fine. The farther Stihl is very loud. Think the guts of the muffler are gone.
I have a 192T and it is a great limbing saw. Light weight is also a plus. Mine seems to start easy as well.
The muffler might be loud because someone did a muffler mod on it to give it more power, a common mod. Might have also just taken the spark arrestor screen out, which makes it louder and also can provide a power boost.
