    Put those out at the next GTG any time after ten and they won't last 25 minutes!! Might free up the porta potty the next morning too, I bet they would be binding!!

    Will the wax cause an issue with a catalyst?

    Just revisiting this thread for an update and the torch comment caught my eye.
    Yes i have a torch and have used it to start fires...and i can honestly say, these wax starters are easier...way easier...AND... i quit using kindling!
    I now use nothing but full size splits, one wax starter and one click of my Aim Flame.
    Literally 3 seconds to start a fire without kindling:handshake:

    Ok. These wax starters are just too easy and cheap to bother to cut them in half.

    This is one of those threads I missed this summer while I had the cable stuff cancelled.

    Good idea about the crock pot, I think I'll pick one up for this purpose as I didn't relish melting the wax in a pan on top the wood stove idea.

    I read through the whole thread and was thinking..... it needs something more. I know, a legal disclaimer is what it needs!

    "There were no heart stopping moments in this thread. No hearts were ever in danger and the OP does not condone the repeated use of heart stopping moments!"

    How's that? :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    Right where I want to be.
    I have no idea how I missed this thread, but I miss a lot lately, sooooo...........back on subject....... TurboDiesel Tim, do you have any issue pouring the wax into the "cups"?
    I'm still using the double boiler method, which works well, but takes a fair amount of time. A small crock pot would work well if it didn't dribble wax down the side when pouring.
    The egg carton deal is still my favorite way of doing these. They stack pretty well, so the only time I need to handle 'em is when I break off one of the "cups".
    We still have one of those large stock pots full of old candles in one of the sheds, and I've had to resort to buying :hair:the egg cartons. Everyone now sells eggs in those dang foam cartons.

    We still see the cardboard cartons here depending on what store we go to...

    I use a small ladle to spoon the wax into paper cups and spillage didn't seem to be a problem
