Well, it got the job done. btw, more than once I used splitting wedges as felling wedges. One has to be extremely careful though.

It's a light weight strong saw. Still think the 7910 will be happier in big wood like the OP posted. But a 462 with 16,20,and 28 could easily be a 1 saw plan for a large number of people.

Dolkita 7900 FTW. Less money, less weight.

Is a Dolkita a hybrid Dolmar and Makita saw? Engine from Dolmar?

The "tree crew" ended up cutting everything up and the butt logs are going to the mill. There's a small mountain of wood left for me to pick up and split. Almost a winter's worth. Worked on it some this AM....hauled out 3 loads. Probably 10 left to go.

Well at least you won't have to wrestle the big logs.
Does this mean the 462 is out of the picture lukem?

Yep. My Makita is simply a blue dolmar. It's the same saw.

Back to back with my buddy's 460 magnum, my 64cc stock saw both with the same chain and both 20" bars, my saw was faster cutting than his 460 mag Stihl. It's definitely lighter too. How it compares to the 462, idk, but if a 64cc saw can keep up or be faster cutting than a 78cc saw that's saying something.

Ok looking at the specs, the 462 is supposedly 13 lbs, which is less than the Makita 7900, but it's also several hundred dollars more.
