State laws will dictate what’s legal or not. When I was considering one none were legal for road use in Ct. Now they are at least according to the dealers who ship them in. Still agree there are better alternatives. Parts are more expensive and hard to find than the initial truck purchase ;)

That may be a good option if Yawner can jump through whatever hoops his state puts up in the way.
A local farmer does just that. He even has a little sign on the back with the statute number daring the police to pull him over. Guess it happened enough.

In this state we can make golf carts street legal. There a few things you need. Not hard. A license is like $20 a year or two , something like that. Can't get on roads with a speed limit of more than 35 I think.

I’ve got a Suzuki carry with dump bed and I wouldn’t trade it for anything, it will lift and dump its weight in wood. The one thing about these trucks is that they are meant to be used day after day, if you take care of them they will last forever. Atvs like the ranger are more for play than everyday work, parts will certainly wear out faster. And I’m 6’2” and 250# if your worried about fitting in one and I’ve got a little room to spare.

A standard cab 1st generation Tacoma isn't that big.

Our 99 Tacoma went almost everywhere and with airbags under the box could haul 1/2 of a full cord. Hard to believe it would be 20 years old if we still had it.

A local used car dealership near me had several of these little cab-over 4x4 trucks a few years back that I thought would make a great farm or camp truck. I can't remember the exact model but I am pretty sure it was a Subaru Sambar, Mitsubishi Mini or a Daihatsu Hijet. Not much bigger than a UTV.

I am really liking the looks of these 4wd dump bed mini-trucks. Based on an inventory and pricing I saw on a place that deals in these, it's mostly $5k to $9k with an occasional one for $10k, even $15k. I dunno why some command a big price like that. Of course, if i found one in New Jersey, etc. it would be one helluva cost to get there, test it out, then get it back. I am going to be on the lookout in the local area. It would sure suit my needs.

Yeah for the right person/jobs I think these would be handier than a shirt pocket! I would lean toward one of these way before a UTV (like a Mule, or an old workhorse Gator) My only issue would be making sure that parts are readily available...
