First stretch of cool nights and people are already thinking about firewood. I have 25 cords ordered at the moment with almost of them coming in the last 5 days.

Great. It's always nice to make more room.
I don't know how to act, opened the door this morning, felt cool. Looked at weather station, 58°...wow...where's my jacket...lol...

Amazing work this summer jrider ! For sure you are a firewood all-star! U should make mazes out of the stacks and do some hayrides/ charge admission this fall lol. Or maybe offer wood hoarder tours?

And I have about 8 cords more under cover at my moms. I bring them home as needed once I run low at my place.

Have you ever figured what percentage of your cutting goes into the cull pile?

Is that what you go through in the winter? Also when will you start delivering now that orders are coming in?

I’ve never stopped to do the math but I produced around 150-160 cords and made around 8-10 cords of junk.

It’s hard to say how much I burn because some of it is such junk I’m just happy to get rid of it but I would say maybe 8-9 cords a year?

And I will start deliveries in 2 more weekends. I would start next weekend but I think my wife is doing a girls weekend at the shore which leaves me with the kids.

I have right around 500’ of “piles” total. I got all of the logs that were on site in June when school got out cut and most split. The last of the rounds will be split on delivery days by my helper and sold next year. I currently have just over 60 cords on order. Just about time to have the cash rolling in instead of out!
First pic is all oak and you can also see my “short cutoffs” in the distance, second pic is mixed hardwood, third is all oak, fourth is mixed hardwood, fifth is all oak, and sixth is cherry, then long pieces, then locust. I’m usually pretty good at estimating what I have once it’s split and in piles and I’m going with 160. I will let you all know come November when it’s all gone.

Well it all starts tomorrow morning...it's delivery season! I have just over 70 cords ordered already. I have all day tomorrow and then less than half the day on Sunday to deliver this weekend. Hoping to get about 15-18 cords out in that time frame.

Finally money will be coming in instead of going out.
