Dave, I saw one report from Atlanta with 31 degrees! That was between 6:00 and 7:00 am this morning.

68 now and 50 predicted for overnight. I think we made it to 72 today. Have a couple family members in from Texas that were cold but I thought it was perfect. We visited an indoor/outdoor flea market today, bought a box of tomatoes to can as ours just aren't coming on enough together.

51 outside when I got up. 70's all week coming up. Usually close the pool shortly after Labor day. May not being getting another swim in here. Of course it usually heats back up mid Sept. but I am onto other things by then.

I'm planning on closing the pool right after Labor Day too. Once it gets down in the 50°'s at night, it's a cold plunge now and then, which really isn't worth running the pump etc.

That reminds me of one time I had stopped for some lunch in a restaurant. A road construction crew came in and they were all from Texas. It was the middle or end of July and they were just about froze. Asked me if it ever warmed up there. I thought it was a beautiful summer day in the high 70's, but a nice cool north breeze blowing. They didn't think it was so nice.

I'm praying this weather holds! Looking at the week's forecast, I do not see any 80 degree temperatures forecast. Beautiful! I might actually get some work done this week.

Back at 86°F, no fire going.
Some Poplar that needs to be taking care of.
Will give those young oaks room to breath.

Hey there! We had a frost this morning but nothing to cold. Its good for my apples. If I recall correctly its about the fourth frost this August. Hoping for an Indian summer though. Days are still nice and warm. We had two back to back brutal forest fire seasons in our part of BC so it sure is a breath of fresh air (literally) this year. We had a lightning strike on a mountain above town last week that sparked a small fire but the helicopters put it out before it got to big. No burning for me in the wood stove yet. Im not in a hurry to start.

I think so. I always think that Im a bit shy for the winter but always seem to have enough seasoned wood. I will likely go find a standing dead tree or two in the next month or so to round things off to make me feel better. We have frost again this morning in the Rockies.
