TSC has their house brand @ $6.99. Not sure if it's all week or what. I picked up another gallon to add to the 1.5 that I have. Should last a couple minutes or so. Picked up some 2 stroke oil as well. Enough for 5 gallons @50:1. I mix mine a little heavier than that....maybe 45:1. They sell the Jonsered brand.
I will start picking up the TSC or Menards stuff when I deplete my stock. Roughly half the price of Stihl b/c oil. The brand I used to use is over 10 bucks a gallon now. The last 4 gallons I got where from a parts trade lol.
For that price? I will quit buying the Stihl oil myself. I only buy it because my dealer gives me 10% off anytime I step foot in the store. I may even make a trip to TSC to see what they have? I have enough Ultra to do about 10 gallons (36:1). So I won't be buying 2 stroke oil anytime soon.
I have bought a few gallons of TSC oil at $7 a gallon. It stays at home for cool/cold weather however. And certain saws that do not oil exceptionally well get thinner oil as well. Worth mentioning that Canola is available at similar or lower prices. Might even be able to get the wife to pick some up while grocery shopping. :lol: I know I will be going that route the next time I need some low-visc oil. The majority of my cutting is in very cold weather.
I have had good luck with adding a cup or two of diesel in a gal of B&C oil to thin it out. For whatever reason I've never run a Stihl saw that I found to oil well. This is several saws and several oils. Thinning the oil seems to help, even for summer use.
