We have gotten some kind of long, skinny black ant around the house and wood yard. They like to get under the loose bark on logs, in the damp soft sap wood, between the logs and ground, have seen a few burrows into the ground. They don't seem to eat the wood like carpenter ants do, but will bite the pizz out of you, luckily it doesn't make a fester sore like the fire ant does. Any ideas on type and control?
well if it is an ant 1part borax and 3 parts sugar add water just enought get it all desolved . take a deli container or something similar punch some holes in the upper side walls pour in mixture put cover on set by where you have spotted them. takes a few days but the workers will take it back to nest and wipe the colony out. same thing ya buy at store for big bucks.
