Yeah Dave I got to work tomorrow. Your place looks so much funner but it’s one of few Saturdays a year I have to do something. This whole week turned into something it shouldn’t have.
Looks like you're having fun up there. Looking at the well head, just something to take into consideration while you're running off the generator. Most of the submersible well pumps these days use a high frequency motor and don't like being powered by construction grade generators. The power signal is very rough by comparison to line power and it's like setting up the fine china on the running engine of the loader. A couple days for the time being won't kill it but think about using an inverter generator going forward. The power signal from them is cleaner than even line power. They are usually a lot quieter & better on fuel too.
I'm up and showered. Having a bit of breakfast while letting my body adjust to being rudely put into action. Hoping to be on the road about 5am, with a few stops along the way.
I'll show him your post, in case he can't get online. He has T Mobile, which doesn't get good internet up there. I have Verizon, could post to FHC no problem.
Have a good trip! 119 is a nice road, but slow, local traffic all the way. See you around lunchtime, do you want roast beef, Italian, or something else?
You and me both. This was supposed to be the first week since early June that I wasn't going to be putting in a lot of hours. That worked out great Mon-Wed, then Thursday things blew up and I put in long hours yesterday - and some more of that fun today . So, I wont be making it to Dave's this time. Sorry I'll be missing everyone who was able to make it!
Just sayin', it's raining primo firewood in Winchester, more hitting the ground every day till Thursday. This really changes the equation for my wood hoarding activities going forward. Instead of haunting the barren brush pile at the dump, and vying for Craigslist offers, I can drive an hour and a half (60 miles) and pick up cut sugar maple and beech off the ground, courtesy of WeldrDave. He's made clear that this generous offer is open to any FHC'er who wants to make the trip. It's really only practical to do when the ground is dry, which means late summer and fall.
I was gassed, and made the command decision to head home. A shower felt great! A dent was put into Weldrdave's land clearing. If the temps were 20degrees lower, there'd be a bigger dent. Dave with his tonka toy. The scary dead pine Getting it ready Good, solid core It was full of widow makers, so no video of the drop. I was watching for falling limbs On the ground And... "LoaderDave" bringing Mollywood to the trailer. Thanks to Midwinter for bringing lunch. And yet another thanks to M2theB, because he spent time replacing the piston and gaskets on my husky 435. I picked it up on my way to Dave's this morning. It ran perfect!
Thanks for the great pictures Mike! It surely was a tad warm today, but that's all changing as I type. Nasty lightening on the other side of the ridge!
