Got home today and Ms. buZZsaw (a former girl scout leader for many years) had made a batch for camping. IMG_0817.JPG

I bought a new double boiler last year that turned out to be way too big, and dribbled wax over the edge when pouring the wax.
Fast forward to today and a package showed up from China that I handed to my wife. She told me, "oh, that's for you".
Inside was a small stainless steel "pot" to hang on the lower part of my too big double boiler.
It even has pouring spouts. My wife is awesome.
Now all I need is a bunch more egg cartons.

I did some today and just burned a candle and drizzled the wax in the egg cartons over the saw dust... I think I'll be melting it for the next batch... LOL Although there wasn't really any clean up needed...

MAF143 I see you are using styrofoam egg cartons. You don't burn the egg carton do you or do you use the egg carton for a mold?

Busted... yes, I'm a polluter... I burn them, styrofoam burns pretty good actually... I need to do better next time, dripping the wax off the candle didn't work all that well and the ones in the picture only burn about 2 minutes. I was using them to light the Swedish candles last night and they didn't work out all that well for that. I had used about 6" of a 1" diameter candle in dripping into these 18 noodle cups... maybe regular sawdust will work better as suggested previously by others. I had just grabbed the noodles cuz they were handy. I wasn't impressed with my efforts.... LOL
