That did it! Cause of you and Brad, next time I am out and about in my wife's minivan and see any firewood, I am going to throw ONE round onboard and document it with a picture. Maybe even pics of the splitting and stacking the splits on the stack. That way, I too can be officially enrolled in this august membership of Car Hoarders!

Congrats Midwinter ! That's a sweet little trailer score that just paid off your rental fee. It looks to be Maple, but cant exactly tell.

I bet it felt good to simply toss it in the trailer and not have to finesse it into a cramped car cabin. You are "Livin' the dream" girl!.... Well, if that's even possible to do firewood hoarding. :D

It's all sugar maple. There's lots more, and some beech as well. I'll be going back periodically until snow.

Midwinter To keep on WeldrDave's good graces you may need some barley pop for him and some nice wine for his better half:whistle::pete::handshake: Good score on the sugar maple.

I gotta keep going back, at some point Dave will have a chipper come, and the small stuff will go away. I'm going back tomorrow, just with the car, and I'll get a better idea what his timeframe is. He said he dropped another 2-3 cords today.

It is 60 miles one way on a secondary highway, takes me an hour and a half. It's a very scenic drive, but. It's mostly small diameter sugar maple and beech. He's clearing an area near where his house will be, where he wants to have grass. He's leaving the big trees... there is a pair of gorgeous big sugar maples on either side of the drive. He's offered all the wood he's dropping to any local FHC member, so far I'm the only one who's taken him up on it. Understandably, he doesn't want any potential firewood to go to waste.

I left a nice pile of logs, near the area where I tried your battery saw. Good luck!

Thanks Mike, I'll look for them! I bet the place is knee-deep in wood by now.
