Little progress today, one load split, and working on revamping the wood pile. My dad(facing) 72 years old, and my cousin Wayne 70 years old. In pictures splitting. Mostly red and white oak split today. woodpile is maple oak walnut and pecan.

Ya the seasoned stuff will be and some ash from standing dead that I’m yet to cut but the oak on the trailer will be next years, it’s been down a year just getting it split.

Wood always heats you twice, unless you rehandle like I do then it’s four or five times!

Buzz saw Brad, ya I move a little then look at it then move a little more. 6 back and 2 neck fractures kinda finished me off. I do what I can but I can’t any more lol. My old record was 5 cord dropped cut split and stacked in one day. Usually one big oak. But now it takes me 3-7 days to do a 1/2 cord . Lol that’s with help. But I gotta keep moving.

Welcome. This website is my favorite place when the frost shows on the window.

I am between Bloomington and Bedford. Good advice to be had, and it’s always fun to see what others had done with their day when we are in burning season.

I am up for it. Still doing a house remodel. When that is done, the patio and balconies will be next, to entertain.

Got the 650 going and raided my brothers slab pile( he has a wood mixer) then drug a few branches of red oak outa his woods. There is a lot more to get. Over it for the day soaking wet hot.

Lol we have a farm so I try to keep the 650 close to me so it don’t get tore up lol but, I have to use whatever I can I don’t have much back left so I try to get everything staged for when the boys aren’t busy they can help ol’ dad out. I have some trees to clean up for my brother and we have I don’t know 20ish cord of logs piled up over at the farm. Dad runs a boiler I have an old wonderwoo/coal stove. Have another stove I’m restoring, went their a house fire. But may run it. But I like my wonderwood.

Welcome! In another thread you mentioned flying a CGS Hawk. There was a father and son who owned a medical supply company out your way in the early to mid 90s. They each bought one and they were decked out with just about every option available at the time. What are the odds you flew one of their planes?
