:picard:I had a hard time spending 27K on my full size Silverado Crew. I can use all that other money for other things. Like retirement!

damm right! Prices are getting out of hand. Buying a car is going to require a mortgage soon.

Well, I hope I don't meet anyone else pulling a trailer! That intersection is killer.
I will be hauling wood in a trailer for the first time on Saturday. I'm headed to WeldrDave's property (over a mountain!!!), where he has offered to load me up! Pics, of course, will be submitted.

That’s a win in my book. I just had to order new tires for my splitter. Flat and cracked. Now I just have to see if it’ll start. It sits outside and I didn’t have to use it last year. Yesterday I got 2 cords of splits delivered. Have some three year old stuff to go through first. Once I get the splitter up and running I can split the maple my neighbor gave me last year.

Cue hoarders safety tips for her hauling a load for the first time, braking, and especially downhill in the mountains. My first time despite being versed and drilled by WWW towing the llamas with the blaze was, umm, quite educational. I recall being stuck in traffic behind a new jeep cherokee hauling a new boat, his brakes were toast by the time we made it north out of traffic because of the stop and go, and that was on flat land!

When the diesel arrives, there's another 7 Grand or so. The story on this particular Jeep gladiator was that the guy who ordered it backed out, and was waiting for the diesel. The dealership kept it on order, because they knew they'd sell it. They really are not large inside, and the bed barely fits something like a golf cart in it. The bed issue isn't my hang up with the gladiator, the inside space in the cab is. Also that 3.6 v6 is pretty anemic, 8 speed or not. Granted, I've yet to test drive it even sit in one yet. I do like that wranglers really hold their retail value though. You can assume the gladiator will too.

Got half my new roof on the shed. I got three sheets on Monday. And of course what happens , as with any job thats partially completed that you don't want to get rained on...well it rained Tuesday! That's why my old roof was left, for extra protection, sure it had 30 holes in it from the perlins, but probably minimal water intrusion since there tight, on the little ridges in the old roof and it wasn't a long rain. Finished the first half yesterday evening. Just laid the ridge cap up there to keep rain out of that side. And yes that's part of an old one. I debated useing it but I do have another section of brand new ridge cap to use. I wanted it all new for just the little extra it would cost.

Got the perlins from a guy I know with a sawmill, and the metal at a metal roof supply place as "scratch and dent". I'm very happy with it and how it's coming along. Glad I decided to reroof and not just patch holes. Once I was up there I saw many I missed the first once over and the ridge cap had two cracks in it that were leaking. Just slime them and be done with it. I've seen some pretty wrecked tires for uses like this come back from the dead with slime.

I remember saying something like that once when I realized it was becoming difficult to buy a new car for less than $10,000.
