The seller was part right. Seals were gone.
I replaced them though with 288xp seals. That’s all it needed to get where it’s at now.
Now for the bar and chain and some bigger oak later this week.

Interesting is the manual on the machine has a published leak rate of 2.8 psi per 30 seconds.

Put the bar on and sheared the flywheel key. My fault.
New key and flywheel snugged up.
Made a few cuts in the pile.

Welcome to the world of wood... LOL

Nice saw to start out with. I cut for years with cheapo low end saws till I got a used Stihl several years back. I've traded up and am pretty satisfied with the saws I have now, especially the muffler mods. How about some pix of the muffler on that bad boy?

Are you going to be heating with wood or just some general clean up / maintenance?

3D design work is pretty cool, I used to do ProE system design in one of my past careers. Glad you're doing well out on your own. I'm building a bandsaw mill blade setter that will do 6 teeth at a time off of knapkin sketches that I'm in the begining stages of. I'm still accumulating materials and have it planned as a winter project. I miss the ProE seat. I'll have to dig into some light CAD to get some decent drawings to share if /// WHEN /// I get this thing to work.

Nah we have a heat pump, so as of now no wood heat unless I talk he misses into a sitter stove for the basement.

I'm using mine for general cleanup around our property line and the woods adjacent to my house. I've noticed the property lines have been encroaching on me with weeds and thorns and the small saplings popping up smacking me as I mow past them.

Cleaned up the shop and found these disassembled saws in a box. Forgot about them. First time I have seen an 020 and 024. The 024 could use some new rings. Pulled the 194 on the super for a smaller 22 I had. I'd like the 194 for a 026/260 build. The 020 runs well. I like finding mystery boxes.

So I stopped at my favorite Toro dealer to drop of mower blades to get sharpened. They’re also my favorite Stihl dealer. Today they were having a Stihl adoption event going today. I just couldn’t say no to this beauty so she’s got a new home.

Lots of fun. This thing never dropped an rpm. Just kept it level and it fell through the log.
Then I found the the chain tensioner had fallen out and called it quits for this one. I brought the 562XS too and that was fun also.

Well that’s a 42” and it milled with a 50” csm maxed out (about 45-46” of wood). Now that it’s ported, sky’s the limit. Bring it!

I like it but it’s the shortest firewood I have ever seen.
