Good morning everyone! Rain tomorrow, so I'll stack poplar today to get it under cover. I have lots of non-firewood chores to do as well, funny how they always take a back seat. It will be hot today, but the pool water is down to 72°! Nights in the 50°'s will do it.
Finally getting some ripe Mortgage Lifters! Have a great late-summer day everyone!

All was fine with her heart cath. Nothing needing a stent. Praise God. Should be able to come home later this afternoon.

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. Mama spent the night with us, seems to be doing well. I start back on night shift for 3 days, so it will be work in the mornings around here. Got to get the pine trees cut and losded for the mill and split more oak. We have room for 4 more face cords in sheds. Still having a heat wave, got to 97° yesterday coming home.

Good morning everyone! It looks like rain to the north and south, but only a shower or two here, so I'm going to cut some more poplar this morning. There is still lots to get. Next week looks to be a hot sticky one, so I'd like to get done with this scrounge this week. I'm running out of places to stack it though. Once I burn the metal shed full of this year's shoulder season wood, I'll put it in there. Come on cold weather!
It's about time someone started up the "How cold to do think this winter will be?" thread.

Good morning everyone! This afternoon I'll pick up my grandson from camp. I'm looking forward to it, I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks because he's been in IL with his mother. I'm sure he's grown a little, he's shot up like a weed this summer.
We get a few cooler days, until it heats up again on Sunday. I'm noticing a tinge of red on the swamp maples. It's coming!
