I wear steel toe leather boots when chainsawing in the woods, kind of a lace up military style boot. Has a zippered side with velcro tab at the top you can latch such that you don't have to lace up the boots when you put them on. Handy. But, sometimes, I don't have those boots, would like a pair of boots to keep in the truck and would like for them to be slip-on rubber boots. Maybe even steel toe rubber boots. Will have to research that. Other than steel toe rubber boots, I see that Bass Pro Shops has $145 Muck boots on sale for $90, save $55. Even $90 seems a lot to pay for rubber boots! Any opinions on Muck boots being worth it? Are they easy to get on, I don't want a battle, lol?
Ive tried pricey boots for work and using the saw and have had great luck with $50 Walmart speciels. Brahma brand i think. Cant justify spending much as im CHEAP! Bought $150 specialty roofing shoes and they wore out just as fast. Hated steel toe! I work the h$%l out of them between the roof, construction and cutting. The soles wear well and the leather toes wears out faster. Ill buy a new pair and break them in wearing as casual footwear. Need to get another new as im rotating two now.
I felt the same way as you. But I bought a pair last year going into winter. I feel they were worth every penny I paid. (mine are kamik) They are winter muck boots rated to negative something or another. They have a felt liner so it's pretty easy to slide them on and off. Not really a summer muck boot but nice from fall to spring. My back 40 where I stack my wood turns into a swamp in wet weather so these boots made it a lot more enjoyable trudging thru the muck to bring wood up.
I've never had the steel-toe ones, but Muck boots are very nice in general. $90 is a great price for them.
Oh I like those! Wish I could find a pair in the US. My recent boot purchase were these Bogs, no steel toe.
Husqvarna Rubber Loggers Boots Id suggest buyin in the US and A as shipping cost will be a pain in the back. You might even wanna ask your local farm supply shop, STIHL or Huskie Dealer if they can order you some they might even have different models.
Not muck boots, but they are steel toed. I’ll wait until they stick around a while, before I give a formal review, but quite comfortable. My brother in law was giving me heck about not having steel toed because I am pretty clumsy. However, most of my coordination issues are from the knees down.
I have a pair of over the calf muck brand boots, I wouldn't say they're difficult to get off, I can get them off by stepping on the heals with the other foot. that said, they can get a little hot during the warmer months. If I'm not wearing those it's an old pair of work boots like you already have. I'm thinking of getting another pair that are shorter. But yes I do think they are worth it.
I have a pair of winter weight Muck Boots, no steel toe. They are plenty warm. Perfect for slushy snow or walking through 33 degree water. They are easy on and off for my feet. Much above 40 degrees and they are too warm, I use unlined boots then.
I've had a pair of muck brand muck boots for a few years. I haven't used them cutting wood. they are easy to get on, and comfortable when wearing get in wet, damp, muddy areas.
