Suddenly dawned on me that before I pick up the pellets I have on reserve, I should at least finish painting the back wall of the garage before it gets covered back up with pellets. June, 2018, I had painted the sheet rock on the partition wall between the garage and basement, but pellets were in the way so I only got about 4 feet around the corner. As you can see, the paint edge stopped at the pile of pellets (the small pallet I had moved to paint behind it, but didn't think to take a picture until I had moved it back).

A month ago or so, I moved the pellets from that pallet into the basement since those were all I had left. Last night I put on one coat and let it dry overnight. This morning, before taking my shower I put on the second coat. I have an area that needs to be parged (the area without green paint in the above picture) so that is as far as I went with paint. But, it is still amazing how much lighter a bit of white paint will make it and it looks so much better!

I have every other Friday off, or at least am supposed to. This is the first off-Friday I've gotten to take since June. So, what to do after painting the garage and taking a shower this morning? Run to Home Depot to get some stuff (35 miles), then keep driving up to the White Mountains (another 83 miles). Okay, I planned to take a quick trip up north to grab some old used drip edge from Well Seasoned (to repurpos for a project entirely unrelated to roofsor outdoors) and some lupine pods. In return, I left dried Baptisia (false indigo) pods and some still-green pods from the butterfly weed (hopefully they dry and produce viable seeds).

Anyway, the mountains are always so gorgeous and there are several dozen places I would like to stop and take pictures, but I picked two spots, one before the notch.

Haven't been in the mountains in a few years, but did just spend a week in Hampton Beach. Lots or rooftop restaurants and bars right next to the beach

Got some boomers and rain heading through.

Decided to check out the roof valley's and gutters on the shack.

Crawled up on the roof with a bucket and got far more than I bargained for.

The cricket where the center section dumps onto the main roof over the kitchen was 6 inches deep with needles.

The far east end of the cricket where it dumps into a 2 foot long gutter was full as was the gutter.

The valleys on the North section were well endowed with needles as well.

    North gutter was full too.

30 minutes and a 5 gallon bucket full gitterdone.....

A piccy of the roof from GOOGLE EARTH

Skylight is over the kitchen island

White material is Thermoplastic that covers the cricket area (Center section of a manufactured home triple wide and has a ridge that is at right angles to the main roof and drains towards each end)

Just to the right of the skylight where the white material ends it drains onto the main roof.

We had the roof completely redone (Tear off down to sheeting with water and ice shield laid first and then architectural shingles on top.

    New sky light.

    Done in JUNE 2016

I hate crawling up on the roof

Mowed both lawns and painted another couple of feet of the garage wall. Doesn't sound like much painting, but I'm using Dry-Lok paint (very thick) and a heavy bristle brush for the first coat as a roller just doesn't do well at filling all the little pin holes. Will roll the second coat on for that area in the morning.

Then it will be on to parging - which should be interesting since I've never even mixed up concrete (or in this case mortar), much less tried to work with it in any way. Fortunately I only have a small section to do - the part that the bike sits next to. Apparently the heat off the bike is drying out the blocks. Although I let the bike sit out and cool off for a bit before bringing it in, I still have a motorcycle shaped area that is slowly breaking down.
